Day 1: DAY 1 COAST & GORGE: The finest elements of McLaren Vale including unspoiled coastline, an ancient gorg and the best of regional food and wine. Highlights include a morning hike overlooking 600 million-year-old Onkaparinga Gorge cliffs, the Wirra Wirra barrel hall and wine tasting, lunch at Red Poles or Wirra Wirra, a visit to an Indigenous Art Gallery, tour and wine tasting at the d’Arenberg Cube, Bekkers fine wine masterclass, and finish with a drive down Silver Sands beach.

Overnight: The Coastal Lodge is a beautiful B&B with 3 suites overlooking the rolling countryside and Fleurieu Coast. For dinner, enjoy a Wild Coast BBQ which showcases the quality beef this region is known for accompanied by wine from the owner’s private cellar.

DAY 2 COASTAL HIKING & 4WD ADVENTURE:: Explore one of South Australia’s most beautiful and untouched nature reserves at Deep Creek Conservation Park. Take a guided walk along the 3km Goondoloo Ridge Trail to see a plethora of native animals, stunning flora and spectacular coastal views across to Kangaroo Island. Next stop is remote Blowhole Creek Beach, overlooking Kangaroo Island. Enjoy a 4WD experience like no other, traversing a dry and dusty trail down to one of the most wild and isolated beaches on the Fleurieu Peninsula. At Blowhole Creek Beach you’ll walk on the famous Heysen Trail, which skirts the cliff line and provides raw views of Blowhole Creek Beach and the Southern Ocean. After a short walk on the Heysen Trail enjoy a picnic hamper of local produce from the back of a Land Rover Discovery accompanied by a cleansing ale or cold glass of sparkling, all looking across beautiful Blowhole Creek Beach. After lunch, marvel at the resilience of nature slowly reclaiming the ruins of historic Talisker Silver Mines. Cape Jervis is the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula and the departure point for your Kangaroo Island ferry, which takes you to the next part of your adventure.


Overnight: You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation for the next two nights - choose from Oceanview Eco Villas or Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge at the time of booking.


DAY 3 ISLAND LIFE: Settle into local pace where things take time. Enjoy a ‘cuppa’ with home-made treats before exploring tall forest where koalas snooze. Listen to bush sounds – noisy honeyeaters and parrots, cicadas or perhaps the sound of silence. Travel through productive farmland to the north coast. Walk bush trails seeking out small wallabies, endemic kangaroos and other birds, plants and animals. Take a break to enjoy delicious grilled fish, fresh salads and fine South Australian wines and beers a private bush camp. At Seal Bay Conservation Parktake a private guided tour among Australian sea-lions on a beautiful beach – an experience reminiscent of the Galapagos. Watch pups nursing or at play in the surf, see old bulls scarred by territorial battles and learn about their unique breeding biology.

DAY 4 FLINDERS CHASE FOCUS: Check out of your accommodation and take your luggage with you as the tour concludes at the Airport. Flinders Chase National Park is our focus for today. This vast wilderness of over 200,000 acres covers the entire west end of the Island and protects a range of wildlife habitats and some spectacular landscapes. Explore natural sculptures at Remarkable Rocks, see fur-seals resting at Admirals Arch, learn about lighthouse history and break for a picnic lunch. After lunch experience farming heritage and take a wildlife walk at“Grassdale” or on an adjacent property now home to many kangaroos. End with a flight back to Adelaide and a transfer back to your hotel.
