McLaren Vale Explorer

The morning begins at Maxwell Wines with a private introduction to McLaren Vale, followed by exclusive behind-the-scenes access of the estate. The experience moves beyond the cellar door, beginning at the estate’s geology pit where ancient limestone formations reveal how the land shapes the wines. From there, guests explore the vineyard by private golf cart, including the elevated Minotaur block, home to the estate’s flagship Shiraz planted in 1972. 

The experience continues with exclusive access to the historic Maxwell Lime Cave for a private fortified wine tasting, before returning to the cellar door for a seated tasting of the Maxwell range. 

Then, savour a behind the scenes wine journey at Wirra Wirra starting with a tour of their signature vineyard and surrounding gardens, the historic ironstone cellars and the famous Angelus Belltower. Next, is a tasting of their Flagship Wines accompanied by a Harry’s Platter and small plates for lunch. 

In the afternoon, enjoy a tasting at Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards in McLaren Vale, set among old vines and rolling vineyard views. The tasting showcases small-batch, estate-grown wines with a strong sense of place, guided by personal stories from generations of winemaking. Alongside their signature varietals, you’ll also taste the collaboration wine “The Ihana”, created in partnership with Valtteri Bottas, bringing a fresh, modern expression to the cellar door lineup.
